OVERTHINKING
Running away I can hear all the voices calling
No time today to be scared and to hear whats said
I'm out of the noise and I'm into the night
Shaking the fear and doing what is right
Finding a way to be out and be free again
Overthinking - mind drive weakening
I cant switch off - on the edge of fight or the flight
Flying away as the pressure is overwhelming
Panicked by fright as the energy drains within
Unable to be who I want to be
Worried what everyone's thinking of me

Returning to what we called base camp
I saw death like no one can imagine
The kid that was ten and learning football
Was strung up next to Mum and crucified by evil
I cant sleep the images stay with me
It doesn’t take that much to get me oh so angry
PTSD - im not the same person
Living through the memories – the hurting
We set on seeking retribution
Peacekeepers – pushed beyond confusion
We hunt the hunters who had killed them
Broke the rules and shot them dead no jurisdiction
Please don’t ask me recall the location
I have buried it and it wont listen
Stays with me every minute – every hour
Fearing one day we’ll be found out

Scared of consequences

Changed the mode – cracked the code - Changed perspectives and off load
In a trance where memories dance – and take me out the comfort zone
And so the analysing carried on

Every session leading into light
Taking me ever further
Shaping me to recover

John Beagley has sung with Glass Hammer and ESP. He has worked with members of Sound of Contact, GTR, King Crimson and Van
Der Graaf Generator.
In the 1990s he was almost signed by Trevor Horn to ZTT Records. As well as producing his own material he also works with Robin Schell as part of Life in Digital and also in the band Iconic Sky.
