This took 18months on and off. I nearly gave up! Originally conceived for my prog band Formativ, sadly our drummer suffered a terrible life changing car crash and while we didnt know what to do, I carried on with this as a solo piece.

Part II – The Hurting
You can play the part of a humble guy whose out to please the star struck masses
With your eloquence and famous friends
You can suck them in and let them idolise the things you do
We know differently – your climbing up the fame game

Believing in ourselves too much

The journey thats laid for us
Knowing your position

Part V – Trying
Never saw it coming
Avoided all the signs
Changed all my perceptions
Thought that I was doing fine
Built up my big empire
With high class fancy friends
Climbed up to the very top
Walked all over them
Oh yeah – I have been trying
To read and justify
To bring peace to my mind
Too long
And yes – I have been crying
Reading pages of a book
When I should’ve had a look
At me....
